Want to last longer in bed, and control when you ejaculate? Body Zen is the app every man needs. Train your sexual stamina with edging techniques, a few minutes at a time.
You learn to feel your arousal rising, long before orgasm. Get close to the point of no return, then bring it back down, until holding off feels natural.
Train at your own pace, with no pressure. Less worry about finishing too soon. More confidence during sex. And watch your control grow, session by session. Body Zen. Free, private, in your browser.
Body Zen testimonials
What changed for men who train with Body Zen, in their own words.
Honestly, I was done in two minutes most nights. Now I actually last. Took about a month before I noticed.
Didn't expect a free thing in a browser to help. I do it three nights a week before bed now.
No sign up, nothing installed, nothing on my phone anyone could find. That's the only reason I tried it.
First week was easy. Second week I failed a few times. That's when I knew it was doing something.
I'm 52 and thought it was too late for me. It wasn't.
I always sped up right at the end without realising it. Having something keep the pace for me fixed that.
I never knew how close I was until it was too late. Now I can feel it coming and back off.
The breathing when you stop sounds silly. It really does calm me down though.
My girlfriend noticed before I said a word.
Felt awkward the first time. By the third go it just felt like practice, like the gym.
Ejaculation Control
Ejaculation control is the learnable skill of delaying or modulating ejaculation, and you train it in the phase of arousal before orgasm. In that phase the level of arousal can still be controlled. You train ejaculation control with the start stop technique and the squeeze technique, two behavioural techniques, and with pelvic floor exercises. Edging brings them together in one practice session. Every time you edge, you practise orgasm control, holding off the orgasm and the ejaculation it brings. As your control grows, you last longer before you ejaculate, and that staying power is your sexual stamina.
Ejaculation control ends at the point of no return, the signal to ejaculate, after which ejaculation can no longer be delayed, whatever you do.
The arousal scale and the point of no return
Report your arousal level as it changes. The stop comes at 8, before the point of no return.

EasingThe wait. The urge goes away and arousal falls back before you resume.
- Premature ejaculationAn involuntary condition.
- Ejaculation controlA skill, trained by repetition. Psychologists and sex therapists treat ejaculatory control as a skill.
To control ejaculation, train with the start stop technique and the squeeze technique, each applied just before the point of no return. They are the two techniques taught for premature ejaculation.
Start stop techniqueStop, wait until the urge goes away, then resume.
Squeeze techniqueFirm pressure where the head of the penis joins the shaft.
In a Body Zen session both techniques run against a paced beat, in four steps.
- Build up Stimulate up to the arousal phase before orgasm, where arousal can still be controlled, and report that level on the 1 to 10 arousal scale.
- Stop or squeeze Stop stimulation until the urge to ejaculate goes away, or apply the squeeze technique where the head of the penis joins the shaft.
- Resume Carry on at the session beat and repeat the cycle three or four times in a session. Train alone first, then carry both techniques into sex with a partner.
- Read the debrief It says control held or not for that session, one session at a time, and you set the next session from it.
Pelvic floor exercises are taught beside the start stop technique and the squeeze technique for premature ejaculation.Continue to premature ejaculation exercises
Premature Ejaculation Exercises
Premature ejaculation exercises are the exercise families taught for the condition. Premature ejaculation means ejaculating earlier than you or your partner would like during sex.
- Lifelong premature ejaculationDates from the first sexual experience.
- Acquired premature ejaculationStarts after a period of sex without the problem.
Pelvic floor training leads the exercise list for premature ejaculation, with the start stop technique, the squeeze technique and box breathing beside it.
Kegel exercisesDone between sessions, with a reverse kegel at every stop.
Start stop techniqueRehearsed inside every session, on the session beat.
Squeeze techniqueRehearsed inside sessions when a stop needs pressure.
Box breathingDone in the slow part of every wave, on the session beat.
Do kegels help with premature ejaculation?
In a study of 80 men, adding pelvic floor control training to start stop gave more control than start stop alone. Body Zen adds the paced practice. The app times your start stop pauses, and every pause is a reverse kegel that releases your pelvic floor.
Doğan and Keçe, 2023Kegel exercises are the pelvic floor training on that list, and you do them with no equipment.Continue to kegel exercises
Kegel Exercises for Men
Kegel exercises for men train the pelvic floor muscles, the layer that supports the sphincter muscle of the urethra. Do kegel exercises first to learn to move your pelvic floor muscles at will, then keep doing them to make your pelvic floor muscles stronger, and release the same muscles at every stop of a Body Zen session.
- The kegel trainer for men device familySenses, stimulates or loads the contraction.
- The reverse kegel at every Body Zen stopEvery stop in a Body Zen edging session is a reverse kegel. You drop your pelvic floor as your hands come off, and the summary reports whether control held.
Identify the muscles before counting anything.
- Find the pelvic floor muscles Squeeze as if stopping urine from coming out.
- Check the squeeze in a mirror On a correct squeeze the base of your penis lifts and your scrotum rises. A finger on the perineum, the skin between the scrotum and the anus, feels the muscles tighten. A visible move in your belly, buttocks or thighs means the squeeze uses the wrong muscles.
- Hold Contract the muscles for five seconds, then relax them fully. As you get stronger, lengthen the hold up to ten seconds.
- Quick squeezes A kegel squeeze works at about two thirds of your full strength, not at full strength. Each set adds ten quick squeezes after the slow holds. A quick squeeze tightens the pelvic floor for one second and releases the pelvic floor fully for two seconds. The slow holds build the pelvic floor's staying power. The quick squeezes build the fast squeeze you use at the point of no return.
- Build up Start with three sets of ten holds a day, and build up to five sets.
- Position Start lying down, where the pelvic floor is easiest to feel, then do your sets sitting and standing as the holds get easier.

Kegel squeeze
Lifts the pelvic floor muscles up and in.
- Squeeze three places at once. Tighten around your anus, draw the base of your penis in towards your body, and hold back urine. Your whole pelvic floor lifts.
- Keep breathing while you hold, and do not push down. Keep your buttocks, thighs and belly loose, so the pelvic floor does the work.
- Hold for five seconds, let go fully, then go again.
- Lengthen the hold up to ten seconds before you add sets.
- Longer holds last twice as long as short holds, and you let go fully between holds.

Reverse kegel
Lowers the pelvic floor muscles, where the kegel squeeze lifts them.
- Breathe deep into your belly and let the pelvic floor muscles drop and widen, the way the pelvic floor lets go when you start to pee.
- Keep it gentle, with no straining.
- Do a reverse kegel at every stop of an edging session, while the urge to ejaculate fades.
If a kegel hurts, stop the set and see a doctor.

-
Relax

The kegel squeeze and the pelvic floor release train the same muscles in two directions. The daily kegel sets build the squeeze. During stimulation you keep the pelvic floor relaxed, and at each stop you take a deep breath in and a long breath out. The squeeze builds the muscle, and the release keeps control.
Your training week brings the squeeze and the release together.
- Daily kegel sets Squeeze as if stopping urine, hold for five seconds, release fully, three sets of ten a day, building up to five sets.
- During stimulation Keep the pelvic floor relaxed while you stimulate.
- At each stop Drop the pelvic floor in a reverse kegel, take a deep breath in and a long breath out, then resume on the session beat.
- Start stop sessions three times a week, inside a 12-week block.

|---|---|---|
| Who does the contraction | You contract and relax the pelvic floor muscles yourself, with no device. | Biofeedback trainers sense and measure the contraction you make. Electrical stimulation devices perform the contraction for you. |
| Resistance | None. The routine uses holds and repetitions only. | Kegel weights add resistance while you contract voluntarily. |
| What you need | Nothing but a few minutes a day, sitting or lying down. | The device itself, and for app-connected trainers the phone app that reads it. |
| The readback | You feel the lift and the release yourself, and every stop in a Body Zen edging session adds a reverse kegel. | The device's own contraction readout. |
Do male kegel exercises really work? Yes, in trials they did. Kegel exercises strengthen the muscles that surround and support the genital area, and the pelvic floor trials measured the control that training gives you. The same training helps your erections too. In a trial of 55 men with erection problems, 40% reached normal erections after pelvic floor exercises with biofeedback.

How long until kegels work for men?
Kegels take about 12 weeks to work, the length of the pelvic floor trials. In trials, men who lasted 2 to 5 minutes before training improved to 20 to 27 minutes on average after 10 to 12 weeks. The plan is three sets of ten five-second holds a day, building up to five sets, and every Body Zen edging session adds a reverse kegel at each stop.
Start Stop Technique
The start stop technique stops stimulation just before orgasm, waits until the urge to ejaculate goes away, then resumes. Repeat the cycle, and you learn to feel the phase of sexual arousal just before orgasm. Edging grew out of the start stop technique.
The loop has three moves. In Body Zen the app tells you when to stop and when to start again, so you never have to guess.
- Stop Stop stimulation just before orgasm, when the urge to ejaculate rises.
- Wait The pause lasts about 30 seconds, or until the level of arousal has diminished and the urge goes away.
- Resume Start again on the next session beat, and repeat the cycle three or four times in a session.
Body Zen runs the start stop cycle in waves, and your training level sets how hard each session is, from the number of waves to the fastest pace. Your training level rises on its own as you train. In each wave of a session, the beat you stroke your penis to speeds up, you get close to orgasm, then you rest.
At training level 1 a session is 2 waves, about 6 minutes, never faster than a pace of 300 a minute. At training level 6 a session is 7 waves, about 26 minutes, up to a pace of 1000 a minute. Each training level makes holding off a little harder than the level before.
| Training level | One session | Fastest pace | Move up after |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1Finding the rhythm | 2 waves, about 6 min | 300 a minute | 25 full sessions |
| 2Holding the baseline | 3 waves, about 9 min | 300 a minute | 60 full sessions |
| 3Riding the plateau | 4 waves, about 12 min | 400 a minute | 85 full sessions |
| 4Coming back from the edge | 5 waves, about 16 min | 500 a minute | 125 full sessions |
| 5Long plateau | 6 waves, about 21 min | 700 a minute | 200 full sessions |
| 6Climax by choice | 7 waves, about 26 min | 1000 a minute | Top level |
To move up a training level, complete the level's number of full sessions, then hold two sessions in a row. Holding a session means reaching the planned end without ejaculating, and bringing yourself back down from close to orgasm in at least half the waves. Two early finishes in a row, well before the planned end, move you back down a level.
Each wave ends hands off, the stop of the start stop technique performed against a clock. The squeeze technique adds the pressure the stop leaves out.Continue to the squeeze technique
Squeeze Technique
The squeeze technique applies firm pressure to the head of the penis to decrease the level of arousal. It is also called pause-squeeze and stop-squeeze.
- Start stop techniqueWaits hands off.
- Squeeze techniquePresses, then waits.
The squeeze has three moves.
- When Squeeze when the urge to ejaculate rises, before the point of no return.
- Place the pressure where the head of the penis joins the shaft. Use whichever grip feels comfortable, two fingers on top and your thumb underneath, or your index finger behind and your thumb in front.
- How long Hold the squeeze for several seconds to 30 seconds, until the urge fades, then wait about 30 seconds before resuming.
If the squeeze causes pain or discomfort, the start stop technique is the alternative.

The squeeze technique presses on the penis, and your pelvic floor muscles work beside that pressure in two directions, tightening in kegel exercises and relaxing in the recovery break.

RelaxThe recovery break in a Body Zen session relaxes the pelvic floor muscles.
The grip row in Body Zen has a setting named Squeeze. Choosing Squeeze gives you a grip stage on the ring in the middle of the session screen, separate from the squeeze technique.

Edging Trainer
The edging trainer is the guided edging timer that runs online in your browser. In the edging trainer's guided levels, you rehearse the start stop cycle, the squeeze and the reverse kegel release on the session beat, and each level sets the session's length and edge target.
- A generic interval timerCounts the same fixed intervals whatever happens.
- Vibrating devices sold as edging trainersA device, not software.
- The Body Zen edging trainerA web app for Android, iPhone and computer that speeds the beat up and slows it down in waves, tells you afterwards how you did, and is free with no account.
A session runs through the stages below, start to finish.
- Choose your guided level Pick one of six guided levels. Each level sets how long the session lasts and how many times you stop close to the point of no return.
- Follow the beat Press start, and a beat on screen and in sound paces every stroke. It speeds up and slows down in waves, so you rehearse getting close and pulling back.
- Tap the arousal number The arousal scale runs from 1, calm, to 10, the point of no return, and you tap the scale whenever your arousal changes. At 8 the app tells you to stop, while you are still in control.
- Read the session summary When the session ends, read the summary, check whether you held control, and take the next session the summary suggests.
A guided practice session is 12 to 60 minutes of masturbation, up to 90 minutes on the longest level, with Body Zen setting the pace. The session runs in waves, and in each wave the pace rises, you get close to orgasm, then you rest. One wave runs through the stages below.
Build-upYou stroke your penis in time with the beat as it speeds up, and your arousal climbs, say from 3 to 6 on the scale.
EdgingYou bring yourself close to orgasm and stay in control. At 8 you stop, and the app counts that stop as one edge.
RestHands off. Breathe out slowly, relax your pelvic floor and let the urge to ejaculate fade, then the next wave starts.
Watch the ring in the middle of the screen for the pace of the phase you are in.
Here you are 11 seconds into a fast part of wave 1 of 2, at a pace of 216 a minute after one tap on Faster. Your arousal is 5, your grip is Strong and Squeeze is off. Ease back and Faster sit in the lower corners of the ring. Each number on the screen matches the part with the same number in the list.
- 1Hide screen and the header icons Tap Hide screen, or press Esc, to cover the whole screen with a plain page and pause the session. With the other header icons you pause the session, turn the sound on or off, open a calm view with only the ring, show tips for every control, and open feedback.
- 2Session numbers Elapsed is the time since you pressed start. Active is the time you spent stroking. Edges mastered counts each time you got close and backed off. Strokes counts every stroke you made in time with the pace.
- 3Wave and its time Which wave you are in, and how long the current part of the wave has run. A wave is one cycle in which the pace builds, you get close to orgasm, then you rest.
- 4Now, and what comes next Your pace now, and the next change with a countdown, for example down to a pace of 35 a minute in 14 seconds.
- 5The thin outer circle The journey ring fills slowly around the rim as you train, and slides back a little after an early finish.
- 6The heart The heart swells as your arousal and the pace rise, strains near the brink, and settles during a rest.
- 7The line, left half The pace you just followed. The line travels from right to left.
- 8The line, right half The pace coming up. Taller, tighter waves mean faster strokes, so you see a change before it arrives.
- 9Your pace in BPM Your pace, counted per minute. Each beat is one stroke, up or down.
- 10The rising light Follow the rising light with your hand. The light rises through the ring on one beat and falls on the next.
- 11The thick light in the ring Your grip shows in the thickness of the light, thin on Soft and thick on Strong++. With Squeeze on, the light firms and eases within each stroke.
- 12Ease back Tap Ease back when the pace feels too quick. After a tap on Faster, it takes one Faster step back. At the planned pace, up to two more taps slow the slow and medium parts by 15% each, while the fast parts keep their planned pace, so each wave still climbs to the edge.
- 13Faster Tap Faster when a wave feels easy, and the fast parts of this session speed up. Each tap adds 30% to the planned pace of the fast parts, up to three taps. Beside Faster you see how many taps you have used. Faster returns once your arousal is below 6.
- 14The gold bar Your arousal right now fills the gold bar, from the last arousal number you tapped.
- 15Building Your arousal shows as one of four states, Calm, Building, High or Very high.
- 16Arousal scale, 1 to 10 Tap the arousal scale whenever your arousal changes, and the app guides your session from the number you tap. At 8, you stop.
- 17Four bands Calm, Plateau (where you train), Edge, and Brink, just before the point of no return.
- 18Grip Choose how firmly to hold your penis, Soft, Balanced, Strong or Strong++. Your choice glows underneath.
- 19Squeeze Your grip firms at one point of each stroke, with a light squeeze in the slow parts of the wave and a strong squeeze in the fast parts.
- 20Pause Tap Pause to stop the beat and the clock.
- 21Recovery break Tap when you get close. The beat stops, a hands-off countdown runs, then the pace picks back up gently.
- 22Finished Tap when you ejaculate. The session ends and is saved.
- 23Trophy and clock Your challenges, and every session you have saved.
- 24Level and settings Your training level and the full sessions left before the next level, the settings, and a short tour of Body Zen.
Six guided levels take you from your first session to the hardest one, and you pick one before each session. Your training level is separate and rises on its own as you hold sessions. Each guided level sets how long you train, how many times you stop just before orgasm, and how fast the pace you stroke to gets.

Metronome Edging
Metronome edging means you stroke your penis in time with a beat, one stroke per beat, the way a musician plays to a metronome. Metronome edging paces every stroke, because you tend to speed up without noticing as you get close to orgasm, and that rush is what takes you past the point of no return.
With Body Zen setting the beat, the app keeps the pace in the heat of the moment, so your attention stays on how close you are. The beat starts slow and rises towards the fastest pace of your training level, so you train to stay in control at a faster and faster pace.
Every wave is a small challenge, a beat a little faster than you are used to. Holding off through one wave is a small win, and the wins add up. Two held sessions in a row, once the level's full sessions are complete, move you up a level, and the next level raises the challenge again. When a waves session feels easy, tap Faster to step up the pace, and tap Ease back to step it back down.
The numbers on the session screen are listed below with their meaning.
- The ring
- The number in the middle is your pace right now, counted per minute. Stroke once per beat, and let the app drive the tempo.
- Beats per second
- The same pace, per second. A pace of 0.20 a second is one stroke every five seconds. The per-second number helps at slow speeds, when a stroke every few seconds is easy to rush.
- Next change
- Top right warns you before the pace changes. 160 BPM in 00:45 means the pace rises to 160 a minute in 45 seconds, so the jump never takes you by surprise and you can breathe and get ready.
- Strokes
- Counts every beat you have stroked to in this session, so you can see how much stimulation you took without ejaculating.
- Rest
- When a wave ends, the beat stops. Keep your hands off until the next wave starts. The pause between waves is where the urge fades and you learn to bring yourself back down.
When the session ends, the summary opens on one word, Held or Finished early, and shows how long the session ran.Continue to edging practice
Edging Practice
Edging practice means you edge in repeatable sessions, and a short summary after each session shows how you did.
Edging means staying highly aroused for a long time without reaching orgasm. You get close, back off, and go again. You can edge alone or with a partner, and Body Zen starts you alone.
Every Body Zen session builds your ejaculation control, because every edge teaches you to feel the moment just before the point of no return.
A guided session is one sitting of 12 to 60 minutes, up to 90 minutes on the longest level. Each guided session starts from the level you pick, repeats the first three stages wave after wave, and ends with your summary.
Build-upYou stroke to the beat, and your arousal climbs.
EdgingYou get close to orgasm and stop at 8. The app counts each edge.
RestHands off while the urge to ejaculate fades, then the next wave.
SummaryHeld or Finished early, with your own numbers.
- Two held sessions in a row move the training level up, once the level's full sessions are complete.
- Two early finishes in a row move the training level back down.
After every session the app shows a short summary built from your own numbers.
- Crossed to 8?
- Whether you crossed to 8 on the 1 to 10 arousal scale.
- Edges
- How many edges you took.
- Pace
- The pace you held before crossing.
- Next session
- One proposed change for the next session, and one tap undoes it.
Your first session has two waves. Twice you build up, get close and stop, then rest with your hands off. If you never go past the point of no return, the summary opens on Held, with how long you lasted and how many edges you took.
Tap your arousal honestly as it changes, 5 as you warm up and 7 as you get close. The app uses your arousal number to pace you during the session and to judge in the summary whether you held control.
Ejaculation control builds in four stages. In stage one you stroke with a dry hand and stop fully at the point of no return. In stage two you stay near the point of no return and slow the stroke or lighten the stroke instead of stopping. In stage three you add lubricant and repeat stage one and stage two, because lubricant brings the urge to ejaculate on faster. In stage four you use the same stops and the same slow strokes during sex with your partner. Body Zen paces stage one with the stops in every wave and stage two with the slow part of every wave.
Edging challenges set your practice sessions a goal, from lasting 5 minutes to training three times in seven days.Continue to edging challenges
Edging Game Challenges to Last Longer
An edging challenge, or orgasm control challenge, is one practice session with one goal, for example lasting 10 minutes without ejaculating while Body Zen guides you. At the end you see whether you passed, the points the session earned, and your best score so far. Challenge yourself to become a master of ejaculation control, or join the edging game clash and compete with other men on the public scoreboard.
A clear goal turns practice into a test you can pass, and each pass shows you how far your control has come.

Hard challenges
Hard challenges run one fast pace for everyone, and the pace keeps its full speed from start to finish, even when you get close to orgasm. Hard challenges can run beyond the fastest pace of your training level. Each recovery break costs points, and your fourth recovery break ends the challenge.

Take the near-the-edge challenge
Train every week
Train three times in seven days. Any session counts, and your third session within the seven days passes the challenge.
Start the training week
Your training level rises on its own after held sessions, so the harder challenges open when your practice is ready for them.

Staying calm while you get close is the last part of edging practice.Continue to meditation and sex
Meditation and Sex
Sexual meditation and mindful sex keep you calm from inside the session itself, for example in the pause after you stop at 8, not as general advice to relax.
- Sexual meditationYou focus on sensation and how your body feels right now, for example your breath and the feeling in your pelvis, instead of the goal of ejaculating.
- Mindful sexYou stay present during sex instead of lost in thought, noticing your partner's touch instead of worrying about ejaculating too soon.
In a Body Zen session, sexual meditation and mindful sex mean the same thing, calm attention to your arousal while you stroke to the beat.
Calm attention to arousal
Breathe on the beatBreathe in a square. Breathe in, hold, breathe out and hold, for four beats each.
Notice your arousalStay calmly aware of how aroused you are while you stroke to the beat.
Breathe out at the stopTake a belly breath at the stop, breathe out longer than you breathe in, and keep your shoulders, belly and pelvic floor loose.
Stay presentPresent in your body instead of lost in thought, then the next wave.
bodyzen.app
Box breathing is slow breathing in four equal steps. You breathe in for a count of four, hold for four, breathe out for four, and hold for four. In a session you count on the beat instead of in your head, during the slow part of each wave.
Box breathing helps because slow breathing keeps you calm while your arousal rises, and when your body is calm, ejaculation is easier to hold back. At the stop, take one deep belly breath. As your arousal climbs, switch from box breathing to a longer breath out, for example in for four and out for six.
Lasting longer in bed has a mental side as well as a physical one. The mental side of lasting longer is staying calm and knowing how aroused you are, which shapes how sex feels, not only how long it lasts. The start stop technique and the squeeze technique are standard approaches for premature ejaculation. A paced session gives you a place to train calm and arousal awareness.
Worry about how long you last goes with ejaculating sooner. In a study of 3,016 men, the men with premature ejaculation had higher anxiety scores. Box breathing and the arousal scale keep your attention on your body instead of on performance anxiety.
Worry about how long you last can also take your erection away. Performance anxiety affects 9 to 25% of men, and it feeds both ejaculating too soon and losing an erection.
Ejaculation runs mainly on the sympathetic nervous system, the body's fight or flight side. Small studies have found more stress-side nervous activity at rest in men with lifelong premature ejaculation. Slow breathing at every stop brings you back towards calm, and so does Zen Mode, the guided voice in the rests.
Body Zen questions
Is Body Zen an edging app?
Body Zen is an edging app that runs free in your browser on an Android phone, an iPhone or a laptop, with no app store download and no account. It paces every session with a beat and voice cues, tells you when to stop and when to start, and shows in the debrief whether your control held.
Your progress stays in your browser on that device. Add Body Zen to your home screen on Android or iPhone and it opens like any other app.
Is Body Zen an edging game?
Body Zen is an edging game for cum control and orgasm control. You play rounds of build-up, stop and start, unlock levels, pass or fail challenges, and, if you join the board, see your name on the public scoreboard. There is no porn and no video. You play with your own body and the beat.
What are the benefits of edging?
Edging is climax control practice that trains you to last longer and to ejaculate when you choose. In trials, men who trained with the start stop technique three times a week for six weeks had far fewer premature ejaculation symptoms than men on a waiting list.
Edging also teaches you to feel your point of no return coming, so you notice the urge earlier and have time to stop, breathe and relax your pelvic floor. That control carries over to sex with a partner, where lasting longer means more pleasure and better sex for both of you.
Body Zen turns this practice into a weekly plan. It paces every round, tells you when to stop and when to start, and shows in the debrief whether your control held.
Is it ok to edge but not finish?
Edging without finishing is fine, because stopping before orgasm is the exercise itself. Every time you hold back at the edge, you train control in the moments just before the point of no return, the exact part of arousal the start stop technique trains. In Body Zen a session where you do not ejaculate is marked Held, so you can see your progress even when you train alone.
What happens if you edge every day?
Edging every day builds control through repetition. Each cycle teaches you to feel the moment just before orgasm. For example, one 12-minute session a day adds up to 84 minutes of practice a week. Body Zen saves every session, so you can look back and see how your practice is going.
Is edging for hours healthy?
Edging for a few hours now and then is not harmful, and short sessions are enough to build control. The start stop method the trials tested uses short pauses of about 30 seconds, repeated three or four times in a session.
Hours of edging every day, or twice a day, for months keeps your pelvic floor muscles working for long stretches. When those muscles stay tight, you can get pain or discomfort around the pubic bone and the perineum, pain after you ejaculate, and a sore or burning feeling when you pee.
Body Zen keeps practice short and regular. A guided session lasts 12 to 60 minutes, up to 90 minutes on the longest level, and every wave, one round of build-up, edging and rest, ends with your hands off, so even a 90-minute session builds in breaks.
A long time aroused without ejaculating can leave an ache in your testicles, often called blue balls. In a 2023 survey, 56% of men had felt this ache, and most who rated it called it mild. The ache fades on its own or when you ejaculate, and it is never a reason to pressure a partner to keep going.
See a doctor if edging leaves you with genital or pelvic pain that stays after you stop, pain or burning when you pee, new trouble peeing, blood in your urine or semen, or weaker erections. An erection that lasts more than four hours is an emergency.
Does the start stop technique work?
The start stop technique works, and trials measured it. Men who used the start stop technique three times a week for six weeks had far fewer premature ejaculation symptoms than men on a waiting list. A review of 10 trials found that in two of them, squeeze and start stop added 7 to 9 minutes, although it rated the overall evidence as limited. Body Zen guides you through the technique and tells you after every session whether you held control.
Does the squeeze technique work?
The squeeze technique works, and the research rates the squeeze technique the same as start stop. The squeeze is firm pressure where the head of the penis joins the shaft, held until the urge to ejaculate fades. If it hurts or feels uncomfortable, use the start stop technique instead.
How do I master ejaculation?
You master ejaculation by training control, not by holding back once. Edge close to the point of no return, stop, relax your pelvic floor and start again, three or four times a session, a few sessions a week. Body Zen paces each round, tells you when to stop, and shows in the debrief whether your control held.
Can sexual stamina be trained?
Sexual stamina trains like any skill. Sexual stamina, how long you last before you ejaculate, comes from ejaculation control, a skill that men in trials trained with start stop three times a week for six weeks and with kegel exercises for 10 to 12 weeks. Body Zen guides your start stop practice, taking you close to orgasm, back down and up again, and tells you after every session whether you held control.
Does exercise help you last longer in bed?
In trials, pelvic floor exercise helped men last longer in bed. Men who lasted 2 to 5 minutes before training improved to 20 to 27 minutes on average after 10 to 12 weeks of kegel exercises. Follow the kegel plan between sessions, with three sets of ten five-second holds a day, building up to five sets. In every Body Zen edging session, you release your pelvic floor at each stop.
Do you need a device to train sexual stamina?
Training sexual stamina needs no special device. Body Zen runs free in the browser on your phone or computer, and your hand, the session beat and the 1 to 10 arousal scale are all you need. The summary after every session tells you whether you held control.
How do you do the start stop method?
Stop just before orgasm, wait until the urge to ejaculate passes, then start again, and repeat the cycle three or four times. For example, stroke until you reach about 8 on a 1 to 10 scale, stop for about 30 seconds until the urge fades, then carry on. In a Body Zen session the beat tells you when to stop and when to start again.
Do I need an account for the edging timer?
The edging timer needs no account. Press start and the session begins. The only thing Body Zen asks you for is how aroused you are, a number from 1 to 10, while you train.
Does the edging timer work in the browser, or do I need an app?
The edging timer works online in your browser on Android, on iPhone and on a computer. Body Zen is a web app, so the edging timer installs from the browser and needs no app store download. To install the edging timer on an Android phone, open Body Zen in Chrome, open the Chrome menu and tap Add to Home screen. To install the edging timer on an iPhone, open Body Zen in Safari, tap Share and tap Add to Home Screen. The installed edging timer opens from its own icon like any other app. The beat also plays as sound, so wear headphones if you want to hear it without anyone else in the room hearing it.
Can I change the session length and the pace?
The session length changes before you start, and the pace changes during the session with the Faster and Ease back buttons. In a waves session you choose from 2 to 20 waves, and each wave, one round of build-up, edging and rest, can last from 30 seconds to six minutes. Or pick a guided level, which sets the length for you, from 12 minutes at the Normal level to as long as 90 minutes at Level 4.
Can I masturbate to porn or erotic images during a Body Zen session?
Porn and erotic images belong in a Body Zen session only once you hold control without porn. Start your first sessions with no porn and no fantasy, so you learn to read your own arousal and stop at 8 on the arousal scale.
Porn pushes arousal up faster, so add porn later as a harder stage. Body Zen follows the order Doğan and Keçe used in their 2023 start stop study, first masturbating without fantasy, then while watching sexual videos, then with a partner. Keep the voice coach on, because the coach calls every stop while your eyes are on the screen.
Can you use the edging timer with a partner?
The edging timer is built for training alone. The pacing and the summary afterwards both rely on one person tapping one arousal number, so build control in your own sessions first, then carry the start stop and squeeze techniques into sex with your partner.
What do the session debrief numbers mean?
The summary after each session opens on one word. The opening word is Held if you did not ejaculate, or Finished early if you did. Under the opening word you see how long the session ran, whether you went past 8 on the 1 to 10 scale, how many edges you took, and the pace you were at before you went past 8.
A typical summary reads Held, 1:43 without finishing, never crossed 8. The Progress view keeps your latest session length, your average breaks and your highest pace across saved sessions.
An early finish is part of training, not a failure. You see an early finish in your summary, so your next session starts from where you are.
Where does the edging timer store my sessions?
The edging timer stores your sessions only on your own device. Sessions are saved in your browser, and after each session Body Zen also writes them to a file in a folder you choose, so both copies stay with you.
Is the Body Zen edging timer a medical treatment?
The Body Zen edging timer is a practice tool for education and training, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If ejaculating early troubles you, or has changed suddenly, talk to a healthcare provider.
What are common ejaculation problems?
The most common ejaculation problem is premature ejaculation, ejaculating sooner than you want without a sense of control. Delayed ejaculation is the opposite, when reaching climax takes a long time or does not happen. The 2022 guideline on ejaculation disorders from the American Urological Association and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America also covers retrograde ejaculation, when semen goes back into the bladder. It also covers anejaculation, when no semen comes out, and blood in the semen.
Edging and the start stop technique train control for premature ejaculation. See a doctor for delayed ejaculation, no semen, blood in your semen, or premature ejaculation that upsets you, because a doctor can check for causes and treatments.
When should you see a doctor about finishing too soon?
See a doctor if you cannot delay ejaculation, it upsets you, and either you ejaculate within about a minute of penetration, as you have since your first sexual experiences, or you now ejaculate in about 3 minutes or less after lasting longer before. Doctors define premature ejaculation by three signs together, a short time to ejaculation, no way to delay it and distress. A doctor can talk you through medical options.
Why am I suddenly finishing faster than I used to?
Premature ejaculation comes in two kinds. Lifelong premature ejaculation means you ejaculated early from your first sexual experiences on. Acquired premature ejaculation means you ejaculate early after years of lasting longer. Acquired premature ejaculation has a cause a doctor looks for first. Acquired premature ejaculation commonly comes from performance anxiety, stress or relationship problems, or erection trouble, and occasionally from prostate inflammation or an overactive thyroid. See a doctor first, because a treatable cause can sit behind ejaculating sooner than before.
Pelvic floor training still helps alongside a doctor's care. In a 2025 study, men with acquired premature ejaculation who trained the pelvic floor for 8 weeks reported their times rising from about 2 minutes to about 3. Body Zen pairs pelvic floor training with paced start stop, and every stop in a session is a reverse kegel.
What if you lose your erection before you finish?
Losing your erection and ejaculating too soon often go together. Treat the weak erection before the early finish. A man who fears losing his erection rushes to ejaculate before the erection goes, and the rush causes the early finish. In many men the early finish ends once the erection holds. Worry about losing your erection and worry about ejaculating too soon feed each other, and erection trouble is one of the common causes of ejaculating sooner than before. See a doctor if your erections have changed.
Kegel training helps with both erection trouble and ejaculating too soon. In a trial of 55 men with erection problems, 40% reached normal erections after pelvic floor exercises with biofeedback, and the kegel plan on this page trains the same pelvic floor muscles.
Research behind Body Zen
2026Meta-analysisEfficacy of pelvic floor muscle training in the management of premature ejaculation: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
This 2026 review pooled 5 trials with 236 men. Pelvic floor training alone gained less time than dapoxetine. Pelvic floor training paired with breathing exercises or a training device came out strongest. That pairing is why every Body Zen session joins start stop with breathing and a pelvic floor release at each stop.
2025Randomised trialThe effects of diaphragmatic breathing exercises on individuals with premature ejaculation: a randomized controlled trial
In this trial, men who added belly breathing to start stop and pelvic floor training held their gains a year later. Men who skipped the breathing slipped back. Breathe on the beat in every session.
2025Clinical studyDifferential efficacy of pelvic floor muscle training in primary versus acquired premature ejaculation: an 8-week comparative study using non-invasive biomechanical assessment
In this study, men trained the pelvic floor for 8 weeks. Men with lifelong premature ejaculation reported their times rising from 30 to 60 seconds, and men with acquired premature ejaculation from 120 to 180 seconds. Eight weeks of kegel sets is the first block to plan for.
2023Clinical studyComparison of the results of stop-start technique with stop-start technique and sphincter control training applied in premature ejaculation treatment
In this study, 80 men in two groups trained start stop over 6 sessions, and both groups lasted longer at 3 and 6 months. The men who added pelvic floor control training did better. Run your kegel sets beside your start stop sessions to train both.
2023Survey study"Blue balls" and sexual coercion: a survey study of genitopelvic pain after sexual arousal without orgasm and its implications for sexual advances
In this survey, 56% of men had felt an ache in the testicles when they got close to orgasm without ejaculating, and most who rated it called it mild. The rest at the end of every Body Zen wave is a hands-off break.
2022Clinical guidelineDisorders of Ejaculation: An AUA/SMSNA Guideline
This guideline from the American Urological Association and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America covers premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, retrograde ejaculation, anejaculation and blood in the semen. Body Zen trains control for premature ejaculation, and the other problems are for a doctor.
2021Patient leafletMale pelvic floor exercises
This hospital patient leaflet for men starts each kegel hold at a count of five and lengthens it up to ten seconds as the muscles get stronger. The kegel plan on this page starts at five seconds and lengthens the hold up to ten seconds.
2020Randomised trialVibrator-Assisted Start-Stop Exercises Improve Premature Ejaculation Symptoms: A Randomized Controlled Trial
In this trial, men used the start stop technique three times a week for six weeks, and their premature ejaculation symptoms fell sharply against men on a waiting list. Three start stop sessions a week is a tested schedule.
2020ReviewSexual Performance Anxiety
This review finds performance anxiety in 9 to 25% of men, and it feeds both premature ejaculation and erection problems. Calm breathing at every stop is part of each Body Zen session.
2016ReviewThe pathophysiology of acquired premature ejaculation
This review lists performance anxiety, relationship problems and erection trouble as the usual causes of ejaculating sooner than before, and prostate inflammation or an overactive thyroid as less common ones. A doctor checks these first, and Body Zen trains control alongside.
2016Clinical studyPattern of activation of pelvic floor muscles in men differs with verbal instructions
In this study of 15 men, the cue to draw the penis in worked the urethral sphincter most, and the cue to tighten around the anus worked the anal sphincter most. Use the three kegel cues together to find your whole pelvic floor.
2015Systematic reviewBehavioral Therapies for Management of Premature Ejaculation: A Systematic Review
This review pooled 10 trials with 521 men. In two of them, men doing squeeze, start stop and sensate focus lasted 7 to 9 minutes longer than men on a waiting list. The review grades the overall evidence as limited.
2015ReviewNormal male sexual function: emphasis on orgasm and ejaculation
This review explains that the sympathetic nervous system, the body's fight or flight side, plays the main part in ejaculation. Slow breathing at every stop in Body Zen brings you back towards calm.
2014Clinical studyPelvic floor muscle rehabilitation for patients with lifelong premature ejaculation: a novel therapeutic approach
In this study, 40 men who ejaculated in under a minute trained the pelvic floor for 12 weeks. 33 of the 40 gained control, at about two and a half minutes on average. Twelve weeks of steady pelvic floor work is the block to plan for.
2014Clinical guidelineAn evidence-based unified definition of lifelong and acquired premature ejaculation: report of the second International Society for Sexual Medicine Ad Hoc Committee for the Definition of Premature Ejaculation
Doctors define premature ejaculation by three things together. The first is ejaculating within about a minute of penetration, as you have since your first sexual experiences, or a drop to about 3 minutes or less after lasting longer before. The second is no way to delay it, and the third is distress. That definition is the line for seeing a doctor.
2014Observational studyThe impact of intravaginal ejaculatory latency time and erectile function on anxiety and depression in the four types of premature ejaculation: a large cross-sectional study in a Chinese population
In this study of 3,016 men, the men with premature ejaculation had higher anxiety scores, and shorter times went with more anxiety. Calm breathing at every stop is part of each Body Zen session.
2012Clinical trialA prospective randomized study to compare pelvic floor rehabilitation and dapoxetine for treatment of lifelong premature ejaculation
In this trial, 12 weeks of pelvic floor training gave control to 11 of 19 men without a pill. The men on dapoxetine reached longer times.
2012Clinical studyAutonomic nervous system dysfunction in lifelong premature ejaculation: analysis of heart rate variability
In this study of 25 men with lifelong premature ejaculation and 25 without, the men with premature ejaculation showed more stress-side nervous activity at rest. Calm breathing in the rests is part of every Body Zen session.
2004Randomised trialRandomised controlled trial of pelvic floor muscle exercises and manometric biofeedback for erectile dysfunction
In this trial of 55 men with erection problems, 40% reached normal erections after pelvic floor exercises with biofeedback. The kegel plan on this page is the same kind of training.
1990Clinical studyErection and ejaculation in man. Assessment of the electromyographic activity of the bulbocavernosus and ischiocavernosus muscles
In this study, the bulbocavernosus fired in bursts as semen was pushed out at ejaculation. Your kegel sets train the muscle that does that work.
1956Original methodPremature ejaculation: a new approach
Semans wrote down the start stop method in 1956. You stimulate up to the edge, stop until the urge passes, and go again. Every start stop session in Body Zen follows that loop.
